If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Your choices are either to backup your data and reinstall XP or to create an image of your current HD and save it somewhere else for use after the array is created.

RAID setup Asus P4C800-E deluxe

When I originally installed my system i used both sets in raid to transfer data from the sata raid to the Intel raid set. Remember there are 2 so make sure you browse the floppy drive to find ALL drivers. Does anyone have a definate answer for this? p4c8000-e

Okay now you've formatted and you should be good to go. I go back to the support cd and install Intel Chipset Inf Update program - can't remember now whether this was before or after para 3. On boot up, it would BSOD. I don't get this prompt. There are 2 sets of instructions for RAID setup. Not sure what to do. I just need to make sure that I could still hook up a SATA drive on the promise controller for my storage.

I have drive images of both setups I believe that way i could do some benches and see whats up if any dif. Once you create the array, you'll reboot. The promise controller is basically on the PCI bus and has its data limits as well.

You have 2 sets of SATA connectors on the motherboard. I disconected the system disks, connected both new disks to the Intel connectors and booted up. Do you really think the array is worth all the trouble?

On the Abit the axus sata ports are listed as onchip ide controllers and the sata ports are listed as onboard. A RAID config program allowed me to convert assus to non-raid. I think the manual isn't clear enough on setting up a second RAID.
